Classic Jam-Filled Thumbprint Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup fruit jam (any flavor)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350Ā°F (175Ā°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Mix in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make an indentation in the center of each cookie.
Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon of fruit jam.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
