Strawberry Frosted Chocolate Brownies

For the Brownies:

1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


For the Strawberry Frosting:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup strawberry puree (fresh or frozen strawberries blended)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

Prepare the Brownies:

Preheat your oven to 350Ā°F (175Ā°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before frosting.
