Chicken Asparagus Pasta

8 ounces penne pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:šŸ„£

Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the asparagus pieces and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine. Stir in the lemon zest and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve the chicken asparagus pasta hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
